Spanish Civil War & World War II - 1936-1945
World War II is one of the largest and most popular
periods for wargaming - along with Napoleonics and the American Civil War
it is one of the periods that up until recently was most likely the first
period a wargamer ever gamed in!
Here we've got both historical articles and
wargaming links, along with comments on terrain and
technology. There are several useful websites that review and
compare figures and we'll endeavour to point you in the right
direction for those too...

Our current preferred rules for World War II games
are Crossfire
(for Company & Battalion sized games in 20mm) and
Spearhead (for Divisional sized games in 6mm). At our local club
however
Flames of
War has also developed a following for Company sized 15mm
games, and a few people still play
WRG 1925-50 rules for Company
sized 6mm games. However there are many other rule sets
available and we provide a listing of many of them.

There is also the Society Of Twentieth Century
Wargamers which produces a good quality A4 sized Journal
regularly and covers wargaming from the Balkan Wars and World
War I right through World War II to Modern Times. Well worth
consideration if you want to subscribe to a reasonably good
value for money publication (unlike a lot of the 'Glossy'
commercial Wargaming Magazines).

As noted above have our own 'fan' pages here for
Crossfire and
Spearhead. In
addition we have several useful articles in the
WW2 Historical section.
