As many may know I co-authored the Modern Spearhead Rules (with Alex Macris) after becoming a strong advocate of the Spearhead Rules for WW2 in the 1990’s due to their streamlined play and ability to create the right feel for operational level wargaming in that era. The following are various resources for each of those rulesets either from myself, compiled from elsewhere, or where permissible from sites that are no longer accessible.
Spearhead (WW2)
- Defence of Florina – my interpretation of the campaign for the action by Mackay Force in the Florina Valley, in Greece, April 1941… as a setting source for players to run their own Spearhead mini-campaign of it.
Modern Spearhead
- Jake Collins Modern Spearhead Resource Page – Jake was a member of the group of New Zealand players who helped play-test Modern Spearhead, and also worked in a defence industry related role. He compiled the following list of optional unofficial MSH TO&Es and data cards on his website that is no longer available. I am building an archive of Jake’s material here at Wargaming.info to keep it easily accessible for MSH gamers.
- Luke Ueda-Sarson’s Modern Spearhead Page (external link) – Luke hasn’t updated this since 2016 but there is some interesting material on it including draft Hungarian TO&Es for 1969-1987 and Czechoslovakian TO&Es for 1958-1989.
As time goes by I will be consolidating more information on this subject here and adding new material as time permits.
